Meet Molly

Hi! I’m Molly, an Australian girl based in the Gold Coast, who loves where she lives, but loves to discover the world equally as much!

I have been extremely privileged to be able to travel with my family while I was growing up and visit relatives who lived overseas. This sparked my love for exploring new places, which then led to chasing any opportunity to go abroad and saving like mad for any potential trips, including school excursions and later university exchange programs.

Before I went on exchange during uni, I was looking and looking for detailed, practical advice/tips for students moving overseas and couldn’t find close to as much information as I wanted! So I decided to document my own experience in the hopes of helping the next person going on exchange not make the same mistakes (whilst still experiencing the amazing parts!).

My goal is to travel as sustainably as I can by doing it slowly, immersing myself into the local culture as much as possible and always leaving a destination better than I found it.

I also looooove to research a place as much as I can before I go, but I’m aware that not everyone does! So I’ve tried to share a full account of my personal journey, while also providing an overview of all the essentials you need to know and my favourite recommendations.
